Vermont Mutual Honors Employees for 25+ Years of Service
Vermont Mutual Insurance Group® recently held its 36th annual meeting of the “25 Year Club”. Every year Vermont Mutual hosts a reception and dinner to honor those employees, both active and retired, who have given 25 or more years of service to the company.
A total of eighty guests were on hand to celebrate and recognize new and existing members of this esteemed club. This year the Club welcomed four new members: William M. Brooks, Paula Driscoll, Crystal Hill and Diane Wendel.
Daniel C. Bridge, Vermont Mutual’s President and CEO, remarked: “Since the formation of the 25 Year Club in 1983, we have had a total of 92 members who have joined with at least 25 years of service. This is a unique and notable achievement in our industry and is testament to the dedication and hard work of these distinguished insurance professionals.”
The “25 Year Club” is proud to have 92 members inducted into its ranks since formation, 44 of whom are active and current Vermont Mutual employees.
Vermont Mutual Recognized by Ward Group as a Top 50 Insurer for a Tenth Consecutive Year
Vermont Mutual Insurance Group®, protecting people and businesses throughout the Northeast for 190 years, has again been recognized by Ward Group as one of the Top 50 insurance companies in the United States. This represents the 10th consecutive year that Vermont Mutual has been recognized by Ward Group for their consistency, safety and superior financial performance.

Each year Ward Group identifies the industry’s top insurance companies through a comprehensive financial analysis of approximately 3,000 U.S. property and casualty insurers. The companies recognized by Ward Group have all passed safety and consistency screens and achieved superior performance over a five year period. This is the 28th year Ward Group has conducted the analysis.
Vermont Mutual Named Deane C Davis Award Finalist
Vermont Mutual Insurance Group® has been named a finalist for the prestigious Deane C. Davis Award for 2017. Each year Vermont Business Magazine and the Vermont Chamber of Commerce selects three finalists for the Deane C Davis Outstanding Vermont Business of the Year Award (DCD Award). The finalists for 2017 are: City Market of Burlington, VT, Kalow Technologies, LLC and Vermont Mutual Insurance Group.
The award, first created in 1990, is designed to honor a Vermont Business that has demonstrated an outstanding history of sustained growth, dedication to their employees, communities, and to the state of Vermont itself. Criteria for this award include:
• Growth in sales and employment.
• Commitment of company resources for participation in community projects.
• Encouragement of employees to be involved in community events.
• Recognition of the importance of the environment to the state as a natural and economic resource.
• Addressing employee concerns/needs to create a positive work environment for all employees.

The award will be presented during opening ceremonies at the Vermont Chamber of Business Expo on Thursday, May 24, 2018.
Vermont Mutual Receives Deane C Davis Outstanding Vermont Business Award
Vermont Business Magazine and the Vermont Chamber of Commerce announced on Thursday, May 24, that Vermont Mutual Insurance Group has been named the winner of the prestigious Deane C Davis Outstanding Business of the Year Award. The announcement was made during Vermont Business Magazine's Best of Business Awards at the Vermont Chamber Business Expo 2018.
Presented by Governor Phil Scott, the award honors a Vermont business that demonstrates an outstanding history of sustained growth while displaying an awareness of what makes Vermont special.

Vermont Mutual Once Again Recognized as a ‘Best Place to Work’ for 2018
MONTPELIER, Vermont (February 22, 2018)—Vermont Mutual Insurance Group®, has once again been recognized as one of the Best Places to Work in Vermont for 2018. This is the third consecutive year Vermont Mutual has received this recognition.
Every year Vermont Business Magazine, in conjunction with the Vermont Chamber of Commerce, the Vermont Department of Labor, the Vermont Department of Economic Development, the Society for Human Resource Management, Vermont State Council and Best Companies Group, surveys Vermont companies to find the best places to work in the state.
“Since first entering the Best Places to Work survey in 2016, employees have continuously voted Vermont Mutual as a Best Place to Work and we’re very proud to receive that designation” stated Dan Bridge, Vermont Mutual’s President and CEO. Bridge continued “And we’re equally proud of our employees, all of whom help to create a working environment we believe is second to none.”
Companies from across the state enter a two-part survey process to determine the Best Places to Work in Vermont. The first part of the survey consists of evaluating each nominated company’s workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems and demographics. This part of the process is worth approximately 25% of the total evaluation. The second part consists of an employee survey to measure employee satisfaction. This part of the process is worth approximately 75% of the total evaluation.
